Get prepared for the radio industry with the New Zealand Broadcasting School's internationally renowned degree.

Specialise in radio broadcasting with a Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications to gain skills and theory in professional broadcast and digital radio. 

Our radio broadcasting degree is highly regarded throughout New Zealand with the courses strongly influenced and continuously advised by industry groups such as NZME, Mediaworks and The Radio Broadcasters' Association.

We develop your understanding of the changing media environment, your practical research skills and prepare you for a first time position in radio.

Early in your studies you will develop a strong grounding in broadcasting and communications theory. 

You will study production and performance while operating a commercial radio brand, broadcasting on FM throughout the greater Canterbury region and online to anywhere in the world.

The degree comprises two years on campus in a fully immersive environment followed by a 22-week industry placement.

The campus experience is unforgettable. It's bloody hard work but you make friends for life and come out with the best possible preparation for a career in the media. The internship gives you real world experience and more often than not, leads to a full time job.
