Throughout the year the New Zealand Broadcasting School hosts various events that you are welcome to attend, both in person and online.
Following are some events you might be interested in. Most events happen in the first semester of the year, however, if you are interested in what other options we have, feel free to get in contact. We will try our best to accommodate tours and hands-on experiences.

Get some hands-on experience at NZBS.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to get hands-on experience in genuine radio and television production settings and see if it’s the career for you. Have a go at a range of roles like directing, announcing and reporting. Operate cameras, sound and lighting and make a real radio broadcast.
If you’re at high school in Canterbury and you’ve got cinematic ambitions, here’s your chance to create a short video, show it to an audience at Reading Cinemas and be in to win awards and cool prizes. Team up with your film-loving friends and get your entry in by 29 September.

If you're interested in seeing how programmes are made, get in touch. We have various projects throughout the year that you're able to observe. These could include: Kids TV shows, TV news shows radio show, music videos, documentaries, long form audio. There are plenty of options. Get in touch and we will let you know when the activities happen so you can put it in your diary.
