Hiya, I'm Yasmina! Most people call me Yas, or Y if you're feeling mega chill. If you are thinking Y me, I reckon Y not me?
Growing up in a heavily media-influenced society inspired me to get amongst the industry and to learn more. From a young age, I have always had a passion for storytelling in the form of dancing, singing, and acting. At NZBS I have found a new avenue to explore my creativity and love for storytelling.
This year my main focus has been on air and programming. Programing is something that tested my learning on-the-job skills. Working with Pat and Jack on the drive show this year has been an awesome experience. The 8-week broadcast gave me a glimpse of a lifestyle I aspire to. I've also done solo weekend shows on Rewind 96.1 and helped out with RDU's Radio 4 Kids show on Sunday mornings. I work as a casual member of the MediaWorks promotion team in Nelson and Christchurch. I have also worked for Invades, a highlight being interviewing Netsky in 2021.
I enjoy working in a fast-paced and varied environment, with a range of different people. I perform well under pressure and am at my best in busy situations. I am looking forward to beginning a new chapter and throwing myself into a fresh environment.
