Being an NZBS radio student means not waiting to start the journey. Students learn the fundamentals of working in a radio entertainment environment from day one. From commercial writing to audio production, promotions, sales, and on-air work, first-year students explore every aspect of what it's like to work in radio.

In second year, students create a commercial radio station from scratch, putting all their skills to use. All roles are fulfilled by students, from management and sales to promotions, producing, audio engineering, and of course on-air. Using industry-standard gear and building strong connections with the radio industry, students gain real-world experience while creating lifelong friendships.

By working across real productions from day one, students build the skills, confidence, and creativity to discover their place in media.
