At NZBS, our screen production students don’t wait to get behind the camera, they’re on the tools within weeks of starting. From live news to documentaries, short films, kids’ TV, music videos, dramas, and outside broadcasts, our students are hands-on across every project we produce. Whether it’s collaborating with radio students on visual content, supporting journalists in post-production, or running their own shoots, ‘screenies’ are everywhere.

Students learn everything behind the scenes, editing with Avid and Premiere, floor management, lighting, colour grading, sound design, vision mixing, directing, production management, and more. By working across real productions from day one, students build the skills, confidence, and creativity to discover where they shine.
