Xavier Hirini

My name is Xavier, I grew up in Levin, a town where everyone knew each other. In 2019 I threw myself in the deep end and moved to Christchurch to study. Moving from Levin to one of the biggest cities in the country and not knowing anyone was a big change. It didn’t take long for me to find my feet and adapt to my surroundings. This shows I can adapt to new environments when I need to and also thrive when thrown in the deep end.

I was deputy head boy at my High school in 2018 and I am currently Residential Assistant of Otautahi House. I like to take on responsibilities when they are presented to me. I am a team player, having played team sports my whole life. That has taught me the significance of moving together as one, instead of individuals.

I have majored in Promotions and on-air, I love to entertain and interact with people from all walks of life. Since last year I have been working as a part timer for NZME Christchurch. This has given me a slight insight into Promotions at an industry level, I hope to further this a lot more with years to come.
