Samuel Robinson

Kia ora! My name is Samuel and I come from Te-Whanganui A Tara, Wellington. I'm a Film and Screen student who has a natural talent for storytelling. At New Zealand Broadcasting School I have written, directed, and edited projects in a variety of genres, which has challenged me to test my creative limits more than ever before.

Before coming to Broadcasting School, I received a certificate in multimedia journalism from Whitireia and was a part of the 2019 Youth Parliament Press Gallery. I then earned a diploma in radio broadcasting and was nominated for a New Zealand Radio Award in 2019. I have previously worked in the nightlife and performance scene in Wellington, helping facilitate comedy, drag and cabaret shows.

I enjoy watching drama series, reality TV, indie films, musicals and local journalism.

Homebound

'Homebound' is a short film that I wrote and directed. This was such an intense experience and I am very proud of the final product.

After the Races

'After the Races' is a short documentary I co-created about an answer to the horse racing industry. This was made in just one week!

Please Hold Me - Will Luhrs

'Please Hold Me' is a music video I edited for a local 16-year-old artist. I loved learning the editing software as I pieced this together.

Māia and Mr. Moa

Māia and Mr. Moa is a children's show that I wrote. It was so special for me to be able to use my knowledge of Te Reo Māori in my work.

Planted

Planted is a short film I wrote and directed last year during the lockdown. Without resources, actors or equipment!
