Pierre Nixon

Kia ora, I'm Pierre Nixon.

My passion to become a journalist was driven from a young age. With parents working in the broadcasting industry, I have grown up around the fast-paced, busy but exciting place that is a newsroom.

I have a genuine ambition to help educate and inform people to help create a better, more just society by holding those accountable while maintaining a fair and balanced report.

During my experience at the New Zealand Broadcasting School, my love for news has only grown, allowing me to further develop my news sense, writing abilities and interviewing skills.

In my spare time, I enjoy honing my craft presenting for a Canterbury sports show ‘Canstaff Sport’ and producing professional music content for my blog ‘The State of the Art.’

With industry level work produced at FairGo, NZME and RDU 98.5 FM, I believe my drive, work ethic and motivation would be an asset for any newsroom.

Ngā Mihi,
