Kia ora,

I’m Patrick, a 22-year-old from Christchurch who is eager to begin his professional career in
radio. Now, after seeing my internship profile, I know what you’re thinking, “why is this
striking young man trying to join the New Zealand radio industry. Shouldn’t he be walking
the runways in Milan or Paris?” And to that, I would say never judge a book by its strikingly
gorgeous cover.

The streams I studied this year consisted of creative and on-air. These required me to act as
the Head of Creative and as one-third of our classes’ drive show. I truly learned a lot from
both streams and found real interests when learning to write ads, engage with clients and
interact on-air, in an authentic way.

Throughout my time at Broadcasting School I was employed as a part-time worker for
Media Work’s promotional team. Being part of the promotions teams provided valuable
insight into the industry I am pursuing and its interconnected nature.

I am fizzing to begin contributing to the industry and become the strikingly gorgeous new
intern on the block!
